Headteacher's Fortnightly Update - 24th October
The 8 weeks of this half term seem to have flown by. On reflection, we have had a very positive term, Year 7 have settled in very well, attendance across the school has been very positive and pupils have engaged very well with lessons and in creating a positive and calm environment.
We have enjoyed the end to the term with an incredible Awards Evening last night, celebrating the achievements of so many of our pupils from last year, hosted by our brilliant Head Prefects, Maida and Layla and our Deputy Head Prefects Nina and Ellie.
We finish the term today with a non-uniform day with pupils and staff wearing something red in support of, ‘Show Racism the Red Card’. We are very proud of the diversity of our school community and also do not accept or tolerate any form of discrimination in the school. Today gives a strong message that any form of racism is not accepted in our community.
Thank you to those of you who have helped in improving the drop off and pick up processes. We still have a way to go but not using the bends as a place to stop and using the bus bay or the overflow car park to turn safely is very much appreciated.
As a reminder, cardigans are now available for purchase from our uniform shops, Macey’s and Beam. They will be the only cardigans that will be allowed from after half term. Our 6th form uniform is compulsory for Year 12 from after half term also.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a very enjoyable half term break, I hope you get to spend some valuable time with friends and family. Thank you all for your ongoing support as we continue to work hard to improve the provision for all pupils.
Kindest Regards,
Mr D Lawlor
Headteacher
