Year 7 Tests

September 16th, 2020 by Sarah Turnham

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope this email finds you well and that your son/daughter is settling into school.
I am emailing to inform you that your son/daughter will be undergoing a series of Cognitive Ability Tests (CATs) in the next few weeks. The purpose of these tests is to gain a better understanding of your child’s ability, and to further inform our academic setting process.
These tests will be sat digitally in your child’s IT lessons, and they will take a maximum of three lessons to complete. There is no preparation required for these tests.
I know that some children, especially those in Year 7 can find any form of testing stressful, so can I ask you to reinforce the message that these CAT tests are nothing for them to worry about.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.
Kind regards

David Perkins
Assistant Headteacher
