Rap and Beat Boxing Phenomena Dean Yhnell

May 8th, 2015 by Sarah Turnham

We were honoured to have Rap and Beat Boxing Phenomena Dean Yhnell perform with pupils in our school today. Dean is a Beat Boxer, Rap Vocalist, Entertainer, Host Compere, Teacher, Producer & DJ hailing from South Wales. Since leaving his career as a fire fighter in 2010 to follow his dreams of becoming a professional beat boxer, Dean has become an unstoppable force in his drive for greatness.

Dean has run a two week project in school with Abdul Alenazi, Preston Wheeler, Nasir Mahmood, Devonte Laidley, Lee O’Neill, Benji Jones, Archie Hughes, Lewis Balchin, Korey Jones and Cody Elshaw. The pupils learnt the art of Rap and Beat Box and wrote their own music and rap which was performed in front of over 200 pupils and staff in our school assembly this morning. The boy’s confidence grew to epic proportions througout these workshops and this was evident to see during their awesome performance. Dean also had the audience participating and learning a few beat box sounds which was great fun. The pupils will be recording their music in a recording studio which they are all very much looking forward to.  Well done boys we are all very proud of you.
