Johnny Smith Visit to school
March 18th, 2016 by Sarah Turnham
Past Hartridge pupil, Johnny Smith, visited Llanwern High School for the second time on Friday March 4th 2016 for a double celebration: to celebrate World Book Day and to judge a creative writing competition for this year’s Eisteddfod. Johnny was very impressed with the level of creativity shown in the writing competition and the pupils were equally impressed with his readings from his series of short stories, John Smith is (Not) Boring! We are very much looking forward to working with Johnny again in the very near future. The winners from the creative writing competition were in Year 7 – 1st place Rosie Trueman, joint 2nd place – Josh Watkins and Ilyas Mahmood and in 3rd place Jack Auburn. In Year 8 the winners were – 1st Place – Olivia Trigg, 2nd place – Melody Buckle and in 3rd place Ondrej Vanyo. Well done all!!
