Holocaust Memorial Service

January 27th, 2016 by Sarah Turnham

On 27 January 2016, Britain marks the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest of the Nazi death camps. Overall, six million Jews were murdered in a systematic attempt to erase all traces of the Jewish race from Europe.

Our Student Council attended the Holocaust Memorial Service this morning along with pupils from other Newport Schools at Newport Cathedral.  Two of our pupils read the 1st and 2nd reading at the service.  All pupils who attended behaved in an exemplary manner and were an absolute credit to the school.
