Bladimie Germain’s Japan Visit

July 14th, 2015 by Sarah Turnham

Former Head boy Bladimie Germain is currently in Tokyo, Japan as part of DMU Global. Bladimie left Llanwern to study at De Montfort University, and has been selected out of many applicants to represent the university in Tokyo. DMU global is a unique international programme for students which aims to enrich their studies and expand their cultural horizons.  For the first four weeks Bladimie will be learning the Japanese language and learning all about the Japanese culture. For the last three weeks he will be teaching English to Japanese children.  He will also teach a lesson where he will talk about Wales and how it fits into the UK. Bladimie popped to see Mrs Jones in the Welsh department before he headed to Japan who provided him with lots of posters, maps and welsh memorabilia to take with him.  Bladimie has said –  “The culture is so different. Everyone is really respectful. I love the fact that they bow to each other.” He is especially enjoying the food “The food is ridiculously amazing.  Even in the university the food is amazing! I’m tempted to move here for that alone”.  We are so proud of Blad and wish him every success in his future.
